A special message back to Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine

Cha'se dogsThe thank you video below features clinical trial patients Frankie, Cooper, Greta and Oscar Madison NYC! They’re participating in the Chondroitinase drug trial for paralyzed dogs at Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine.

A special THANK YOU goes right back to Dr. Nick Jeffery and Dr. Hilary Hu for all their hard work to test this drug for potential treatment of paralysis in our pet dogs and “potentially” humans in the future. Your team has been working so hard and we appreciate every bit of it! Best of luck for results in 2015!

Another thank you goes to the team at Spinal Research and Dr. Mark Bacon, Executive & Scientific Director for funding this trial.

As 2014 comes to a close our students, faculty, staff and a few of our furry friends would like to share our appreciation. Thank you to alumni, donors, referring veterinarians, clients and all who support the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

  1. How far you in using the Peptide therapy on humans? and Are you accepting volunteers

The enzyme is not being used on humans or tested in humans. It is currently undergoing trial in canine. If the results are conclusive and favorable at the end of the dog trial, it could be considered favorable to move into human trials.
